Vehicle Listing Description
I am the third owner of this numbers matching and documented original Charger, which I acquired in January 2000. Its second owner had the car since ’69 or ’70. He was a paint and body man by profession and did a frame up driving restoration in 1996, prior to his retirement. He took it on the Hot Rod power tour in ’99 but otherwise he had not shown the car. The color is a rare spring color and the car is also a highly desirable original Hurst 4-speed car!

The car was originally bought in Oregon and remained there until I brought it down to California. I still have the Oregon plates although I currently have personalized CA plates on the car now.

Since the car is accident free and rust free the body is straight as an arrow. Exterior paint is fabulous! Paint is color code 331 “Charger red” and has a clear coat. Pinstripes were applied over this. This car was a white hat special meaning that it had a white top, interior and whitewalls, however the first owner upgraded to Cragers and it’s remained that way. I do have a complete set of 5 restored rims and 6 decent hubcaps that will go with the car as well as a complete spare rebuilt dash panel, gauges and dash bezels. I also have an extra intake manifold since I powder coated the one on the engine.

The car has been appraised and documented by Pacific Automobile Appraisers and Galen V. Govier. I have the original owner’s manual including the blue certicard in the back and the Customer Care Warranty. I also have the broadcast sheet I found in the backseat. While it now has electronic ignition, I do have the original distributor. This car was built in Hamtramck, MI. I have receipts from all but the first owner. Car coverand '68 service manual, will be included. Smoke free history.

This car “debuted” at Spring Fling 2000 in Los Angeles and has gone on to win numerous awards including best restified, first place muscle car, best B-body, and recently won 3rd in Mopar Alley’s Top Gun against 20 other first place finishing Mopars from the previous year. The car has also been sponsored for the prestigious Air Systems Foundation benefit show. Ron Kimball has photographed the car and it has been in several calendars including 2009 Muscle (Kragen, Checker, Schuck's, Murray's and O'Reilly auto parts stores.) I will include a couple copies of 2004 Car & Driver American Muscle Car, 2009 Muscle, and a poster. This Charger is “eye candy” and commands attention everywhere it goes!

Modifications include:

Headers and glass packs, air shocks on rear, master cylinder (NOS), electronic ignition, battery (I do have a reproduction battery and the original radiator cap for shows), rear speakers, chrome exhaust tips (round NOT R/T style), Cooper Cobra radial tires. Hood hinges are painted incorrect color.

Front windshield has been replaced and I still have the original one which has a small chip and the Hot Rod power tour sticker on it. Reproduction parts include new trunk mat and hood pad. You will get original set of keys plus 2 extra sets.

Again, this car is very likely the best representation of a 1968 Charger restored as an “original” restoration. The vinyl top, interior (except one rear quarter panel), headliner and carpet are ORIGINAL and in great shape. It is seldom driven and garaged year round. This car is ready to go to a "concours level" collector.
